Yangmingshan National Park — recommended for Nov. Silver grass (芒草) meadows and fumaroles; Lengshuikeng outdoor hot spring pool (free; bring swimwear). Bus 260 from Taipei Main Station or Jiantan MRT. Combine with Beitou hot springs in the afternoon (MRT Red Line to Xinbeitou Station).

Transit

Airport MRT: NT$160 one-way, Taoyuan Airport (T1 or T2) → Taipei Main Station. Express: 35 min (T1) / 38 min (T2). EasyCard accepted.

EasyCard: Recommended. Works on Taipei MRT, all city buses, YouBike, TRA local trains, convenience stores, many museums. ~20% discount vs cash on MRT; NT$8 transfer discount (MRT↔bus within 1 hour). Contactless credit card / NFC payments on Taipei MRT: Live from July 1, 2026. Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay accepted at fare gates. No MRT discounts or transfer rebates apply — EasyCard remains the cost-efficient option for frequent MRT use.

Sanying MRT Line (Light Blue, 三鶯線): Open Jun 30, 2026. 14 stations; transfer at Dingpu (Blue/Bannan Line). Connects Sanxia and Yingge (ceramics district) to central Taipei — reduces Yingge journey by ~20 minutes if that is on the itinerary.

Red Line eastern extension (~Guangci/Fengtian Temple Station): Target opening end of August 2026; fire-safety inspection failed June 2026. Likely operational by November — confirm pre-trip.
