What It Is

A six-seat reservation-only tea salon occupying a second-floor lane apartment with no exterior signage. The entrance is marked only by a single old wooden log at the alley mouth and stone stairs to the second floor. The 90-minute session is guided: the host conducts the first three steepings, introducing provenance and preparation, then withdraws to allow guests to continue at their own pace. Beverages span aged teas, high-oxidation oolongs, honey-process blacks, and tea cocktails — century-old-tree red tea blended with French apple brandy; gin with Pinglin Baozhong. Gift-boxed single-origin teas and occasional artist-collaboration tea ware are available for purchase.

Founded 2019 by Karen and Marco of ADC Studio; interior by architect Lian Hao Yan. The format — intimate guided tasting transitioning to self-directed immersion — is not replicated at any other Taipei tea venue.

Why It Is Unusual

Most Taipei tea venues operate as retail shops with optional brewing stations or as teahouses serving standard menus. Liquide Ambré has no street presence, a maximum of six seats, and a curated program of rare-category teas not stocked at commercial outlets — aged teas from multi-decade storage, honey-process productions, high-roast aged oolongs. The cocktail menu integrating aged-tree red tea with European spirits is the only documented example of that format in Taipei. The absence of signage is deliberate; the venue operates entirely by referral and advance booking.
