What It Is

Yingge has manufactured ceramics since the early 19th century, when local clay deposits and kiln wood supported the industry; it remains Taiwan's centre of pottery production and retail. Ceramics Old Street (陶瓷老街, officially Wenhua Road / Jianshan Street) is lined with pottery shops, workshops, and DIY hand-painting studios, a five-minute walk from the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum.

Getting There

TRA from Taipei Main Station to Yingge Station, 20–30 minutes, departures every 15–30 minutes. No reservation needed; EasyCard accepted. Exit via the Culture Road (文化路) exit, turn right into the Old Street business district.
